About this course
Coding for Kids 2.0
(For age group 13 - 18 years)
By Fahad Monir, Lecturer, Independent University, Bangladesh
Insight of the Course
The demand for Computer Science in general and coding in particular is increasing day-by-day. Your kid, no matter what field he chooses for his studies and career HAS TO deal with computers and coding either directly or indirectly. Therefore, it will be a big plus for your kid if he knows the insight of computer science and coding beforehand. By doing so, your kid can better prepare himself/herself to embrace the ever increasing competition of the future world.
Considering the increasing demand of computer literacy, eSchool of Life is offering an exceptional course “Coding for Kids 2.0”, where your child will learn the current most popular programming language Python.
Why is this course important?
Python has become the most popular language in the world, so much so that its knowledge is also in demand by non-Computer Science students. Keeping this in mind, this course is developed from where students can acquire the basic knowledge on “Python” by effectively using their brain through practical works. In this course, students will get the opportunity to learn python coding through some practical examples using Google Colab, or any similar interactive programming platform. In each class, students are required to improve a given code, by looking for errors in incorrect code and fixing the errors. By the end of the course, students will be able to solve many problems by building their own python coding using self-generated flowcharts.
Return on Investment (Learning Outcomes)
The students will be trained up for the brain engaging activities to solve several practical problems. In this course students will be given python codes to find the errors, through testing procedures, fix them and finally improve the code where necessary. In brief, students will get the scope to learn and develop python programming step by step by practicing debugging processes. They will be able to program basic life problems using the python programming language.
- Understand the basics of Computer Science
- Get familiar with basic coding techniques (i.e. how to use control structures, e.g. sequence, conditions, repetition. What functions are and how to use them etc.)
- Students should be able to complete a project with menu operations and functions by themselves as well as be able to research to solve problems by using Python Libraries.
- Will be able to generate their own python code sequentially.
- Would be able to create his/her own programming project
